jason wrote on Monday, September 08, 2014 (PDT):it looks great with the rear weights has fuild in rear or just air and u said it has 6,200 hours whoo weee after that many hours its still going stong wonder if u all had to have it overhauled or do anything to it before the makeover my grandfather had a 1977 john deere 2640, dual hyd remotes and hi low shifter too with only 800 hours when we sold it in 89' then I had bought a 1977 2840 with only 2,700 hours on it bought in 01' I think all it ever did was push snow till I got it. I saw the other pic u posted u found a 2840 in fence row and planed to give it a make over like to see the outcome on that 2840 some day 2 last thing like to ask ya wonder if u had ploblems with hyd remotes leaking and not holdin its load I heard people had plms with that all the deeres I had owned I never did last thing u posted u was from ky, so am I I am too from ky central ky that is let u go thanks for posting the pics

I use to have fluid in the back tires but I'm not going to work it as hard as before. It was overhauled at 5800 hours. Never had any hydraulic problems with it. These tractors were real work horses and gave little trouble if taken care of. I would like to see your JD 2840 on the Tractor Photos. Also check out my JD 4840, 530, 630. jason wrote on Thursday, September 11, 2014 (PDT):thanks for the info Dwight no hyd plms at all that's good news of all the deeres I own and drove I had no hyd plm either, u are right take care of your tractors and they will go a long way for ya what was the 2440 was used mainly for till over haul time at 5,800 hrs u realy did a fine job of takeing care of that deere till the 5.800hr mark also I am going to see if I have a pic of that 2840 if not will try get around to take one many thanks Dwight
